Download the picoChip masterclass!
At last week's LTE World Summit in Amsterdam, picoChip CTO Dr Doug Pulley hosted an exclusive masterclass on the use of femtocells in LTE.
Now you can request a copy of Dr Pulley's presentation 'Deploying small cell architectures for LTE', including valuable insights on topics including:
• Self-organizing networks (SON)
• Provisioning and OA&M
• Synchronization
• Regulatory issues
• Handover
• Interference mitigation
Dr Pulley is one of the world's leading authorities on air interface design and wireless system architecture. He heads a team of technologists who have made key contributions to solving small cell interference challenges for both 3G and LTE, as well as authoring definitive studies and recommendations on interference and network management for the Femto Forum and 3GPP RAN3 and RAN4

Conference features femtos
Femtocells were a major theme throughout the 2010 LTE World Summit, with vendors, operators and analysts all agreeing that small cells will have a major part to play in the deployment of LTE networks.
A dedicated femtocell conference track featured speakers from Telefonica, Vodafone, BT Innovate, and Telkom Indonesia, as well as an update on the market from Femto Forum Chair Simon Saunders.
The Next Generation Core Networks conference featured a presentation on behalf of the Femto Forum by Andy Gothard, picoChip Director of Corporate Marketing, whose presentation offered an overview of femto architectures, and looked at some of the implications for core network architectures of the uptake of femtocells.

LTE femto: Femto Forum shows how and why
With the growing recognition that LTE requires small cells if it is to deliver on its potential, the Femto Forum has been working on a variety of projects.
These include:
• The Best that LTE Can Be: a white paper on why LTE needs femtocells
• The Business Case for Femtocells in the Mobile Broadband Era: a white paper that details the return on investment case for operators
• OFDMA Interference Management: a white paper that analyzes the important radio network interactions in LTE
Femto Forum white papers are available for free download here
The Forum's website also offers over 40 informative presentations on femtocell markets and technology from Forum members, vendors, operators and analysts.
